My 3.5 yr old neice is already learning that the Queen has more responsibility and "power" than the princess. During my childhood play, it never occurred to me that I could be "the Queen". My neice...the new feminism is already understanding that she doesn't have to be a princess because of her age. She can be Queen and the "Queen" tells the princess what to do.What a social hierarchy that is being torn down. She can be whoever she wants.
The princess dress she is wearing is 2 full sizes too large so that she can dress and undress herself as she plays in her princess world. The pearls, ring and bracelet are older costume jewelry from my jewelry box.
The moment she put it all on you would have forgottn everything as the Queen entered the room!
Imagination is the best gift of th soul!
